Creating safe spaces for  LGBTQIA+ youth hockey players to connect and build supportive community

Pride Pond Hockey is a youth (under 18) pride event held in conjunction with the adult Seattle Pride Hockey Tournament. It is designed to be a friendly, low-pressure hockey event for LGBTQIA+ youth & allies to play, connect & celebrate community in a supportive atmosphere where everyone belongs.  The format of the event is 3 vs 3, co-ed, cross-ice, pond hockey. This year we hope to have 6 teams of 6 players.

Rainbow Hockey Families is a small all volunteer group of parents of Gender Expansive & LGBTQIA+ youth hockey players who have seen what a difference connection and community brings to the wellbeing of our children, especially in these challenging times.

We organized our first Pride Pond Hockey event in 2025.  In 2026  we hope to have spring off-ice social gatherings to build a strong LGBTQIA+ hockey community in addition to Pride Pond Hockey in June 2026.

Whether you are a parent of a LGBTQIA+ player, or an ally, we could really use your support to bring our vision of community to life this year.  Many hands make lite work.
